We are seeking volunteers for a variety of tasks to assist our fire survivors in their journey toward recovery. The McKinley Fire LTRG anticipates a busy summer of rebuild, and invites our community to make a difference for fire families as we return them to their pre-disaster living conditions.
Your help will mean a new home and so much more! Volunteer tasks may include:
- preparing properties for building to begin
- basic framing and carpentry
- new home construction
- new addition construction
- landscaping & yard work
- staffing our donations warehouse
- flooring installation
- helping families move appliances and furniture
- building outhouses, a uniquely Alaskan task!
With your help we can restore the Upper Susitna area and provide fire survivors with safe, welcoming housing.
Volunteers will be needed throughout the summer and into fall. Volunteers will need the ability to travel independently to the Upper Su area and have their own transportation. All applicable COVID-related mandates and guidelines for safe distancing, PPE, and sanitation must be followed.
